Warranty and Return Policy

Silex Products Limited Warranty

Silex Technology warrants to the original retail purchaser that the Silex Embedded Wireless Modules and Network Solution System hardware products ("Products") will be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a period of (5) years from the original purchase date. Provided, however, that the following products shall be excluded:

  1. All embedded wireless listed below are warranted for 1 year.
    • Sample packs ending with the suffix –SP.
    • SX-59HLS, SX-PCEAC2-SMT, SX-PCEAC2-HMC, SX-PCEAC2-M2, SX-PCEAX-SMT, SX-PCEAX-HMC, SX-PCEAX-M2, SX-SDCAC-2830, SX-SDPAC-2830, SX-ULPGN-2000-WW, SX-NEWAH (US), SX-23BT, SX-590-6900, SX-59HLS-EVK, SX-SDPAC-EVK, SX-ULPGN-2000-EVK-AT, SX-NEWAH-EVK(US), SX-PCEAC2-EVK, SX-23BT-EVK
  2. X-5 and X-5HM, which are warranted for a period of (3) years from the original purchase date.

Should your product prove defective during the warranty period, please contact your point of purchase for warranty process instructions and return authorization, or contact a Silex Technology office if you are instructed to do so by your point of purchase personnel. A Silex Technology service representative will provide diagnostic service to determine whether the product requires service. If service is needed, Silex Technology will, at its option, exchange or repair the product without charge for parts or labor. If Silex Technology authorizes an exchange for the defective unit, Silex Technology will ship a replacement product to you, freight prepaid, after receipt of the defective unit. You are responsible for securely packaging the defective unit and return it freight-prepaid, following the instructions you receive. When warranty service involves the exchange of the product or a replacement part, the replaced item becomes Silex Technology’s property. Exchanged or repaired products assume the remaining warranty period of the original product covered by this limited warranty.

This limited warranty does not cover:

1. Damages to the Silex Technology product caused by replacement parts or power supplies not manufactured, distributed or certified by Silex Technology.

2. Packing box, packaging material, manuals and other hard copy documentation.

3. Cosmetic damage or degradation including product cases, antennas, discoloration of rubber feet and the like due to aging

4.  Silex Technology products that fail as a result of misuse, abuse, improper installation, neglect, improper shipping, damage caused by disasters such as fire, flood, and lightning, improper electrical current, software problems, interaction with non-Silex Technology products, or attempted service by a person other than a Silex Technology authorized service person.

If a claimed defect cannot be identified or reproduced, you will be responsible for the cost incurred.

This warranty is not transferable and only applies to the original purchase. The warranty does not apply to refurbished, traded or used equipment purchases.

The warranty and remedy provided above are exclusive and in lieu of all other express or implied warranties including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, non-infringement or fitness for a particular purpose.

Except as provided in this written warranty, Silex Technology or its affiliates shall not be liable for any loss, inconvenience, or damage, including direct, special, incidental or consequential damages, resulting from the use or inability to use the Silex Technology product, whether resulting from breach of warranty or any other legal remedy.

 

RMA Policy

 
  • Please contact Silex Technology support at support@silexamerica.com (North America) or support@silexeurope.com (Europe) to request return authorization and shipping instructions before returning product, regardless of warranty status.
  • An RMA number will be provided to the customer by a Silex Technology technical support representative for product that is deemed to be defective.
  • Proof of purchase in the form of copy of sales receipt may be required for warranty repairs/exchanges. Silex Technology may repair the defective unit or exchange for either a factory reconditioned or a new unit. A different model with same or better features and technical specifications may be shipped if the model of the defective product is discontinued.
  • For non-warranty claims, the following options will be offered to the customer: repair of the defective unit, exchange for a factory reconditioned unit with 90-days limited warranty, exchange for a new unit with full manufacturer warranty, an upgrade to a different model with better features and technical specifications. The pricing information will be provided with each option.
  • No advanced replacement is issued unless Silex Technology receives a credit card to secure the return of the defective unit. The credit card will be charged the amount of current MSRP of the replacement unit before shipping it to customer. A credit in the same amount will be applied to the credit card within 14-30 calendar days after the defective unit has been received by Silex Technology. The credited amount may be different and less than the charged amount if the model of the returned unit is different than requested for advanced replacement. Partial refund or no refund will be issued if the product is received in condition that voids the warranty such as misuse, abuse, improper shipping, damage caused by natural disaster, improper electrical current (power surge), etc. Please refer to the Silex Technology Warranty for more information regarding limited warranty coverage.
  • Repaired/exchanged unit(s) is shipped from the Silex Technology warehouse via UPS Ground at no charge usually within 14-30 calendar days after receiving the defective unit(s) from customer. A freight account number or credit card is required if customer requests an expedited shipping method.
  • Repaired/exchanged units will carry a 90-days parts/labor warranty or remaining factory warranty, whichever is greater, from date of shipping the product back to the customer.
  • Defective units are shipped at the customer’s expense to the Silex Technology warehouse. The customer is responsible for insuring the package when shipping defective unit(s) to Silex Technology. Include the RMA form (Europe) in the shipment.
  • Securely attach the mailing label to the returning package. Make sure that the RMA# is clearly visible on all outer packaging.
