IEEE 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) Wireless LAN Access Point Modules

This User’s Guide provides instructions on SX-PCEAX-AP evaluation with i.MX8MM from NXP.

This page covers how to start the evaluation process of the SX-PCEAX-AP, a dual-band Wi-Fi 6 M.2 Radio Module with the NXP I.MX8MM board. We have created an evaluation image using our optimized Silex reference driver for the QCN9072 based SX-PCEAX-AP Wi-Fi Module.


The evaluation image includes our radio driver, AP, and other tools to test the following:

  • Basic Wireless functionality
  • Advanced Wi-Fi Security
  • Data Throughput

What you will need

1. Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Development Host PC
2. IEEE 802.11ax Station
3. NXP i.MX8MMini (i.MX 8M Mini LPDDR4 EVKB)
4. M.2 edge to mini-PCIe connector Conversion Board
5. Silex SX-PCEAX-AP 802.11ax wireless module
