802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Serial Device Server / Ethernet Wi-Fi bridge
The Silex SD-330AC-1402 features a FIPS 140-2 wireless/wired LAN Serial Device Server and an Ethernet to Wi-Fi Bridge. Devices equipped with the RS-232C serial interfaces can join a Ethernet LAN or wireless LAN. Devices with an Ethernet port are also transformed to a wireless network devices. Medical devices, printers, scanners or virtually any other device with a serial port or an Ethernet port can now be enabled with secure and robust LAN network capability. The SD-330AC-1402 can be simply added to US government facilities to enhance device networking connectivity.
The Silex SD-330AC-1402 is FIPS 140-2 compliant product providing secure network connectivity to serial devices and Ethernet devices. Many medical and industrial devices like measuring instruments, meters, sensors, industrial displays and label printers that are equipped with the RS-232C serial interface or Ethernet interface, can now be enabled with secure, robust wireless network capability. SD-330AC-1402 is the successor product of SX-500 FIPS version, which has been widely deployed in the market.
Easily connect and share RS-232C serial or Ethernet devices on 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi network. This eliminates the restriction in equipment installation and mobility.
The SD-330AC-1402 adds secure Wi-Fi interface to legacy serial and Ethernet devices for U.S. and Canadian government facilities and agencies which require FIPS 140-2 cryptographic module. The SD-330AC-1402 is the best fit for those who are looking for FIPS 140-2 product to convert serial or Ethernet interface to Wi-Fi interface.
In FIPS 140-2 mode, Wi-Fi connection is established only through FIPS 140-2 certified WLAN authentication and WLAN data encryption using WPA2-PSK (AES).
In addition, the end-to-end application security is established by TLS encryption. Firmware are securely stored in the device and secure boot protects the device from booting up with unauthorized firmware image.
The SD-330AC-1402 supports fast roaming to connect mobile serial or Ethernet devices among Wi-Fi networks. This will minimize the downtime of the wireless connection and increase the communication efficiency.
The SD-330AC-1402 provides flexibility in the deployment based on the available infrastructure by supporting various connectivity models.
