Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 plus Bluetooth® Combo SDIO Module Powered by NXP

The SX-SDMAX is a 2.4 GHz/5 GHz dual-band Wi-Fi 6 plus Bluetooth v5.3 BR/EDR/LE  SDIO 3.0 module using the NXP IW611 chipset that supports the latest 802.11ax standard. It reliably provides secure plug and play wireless connectivity for the NXP i.MX series and other platforms for improved performance with low latency, high throughput, and low power consumption for better communication in dense environments.

Plug and Play Wireless Module for NXP-based Platforms

The SX-SDMAX gives designers the ability to lengthen their product lifecycle to 10-15 years using NXP IW611 chipset that supports the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard. It can be enabled across multiple platforms, but is ideally suited as a plug and play wireless module for the NXP i.MX platform that integrates wireless drivers in the BSP software.

The SX-SDMAX is an excellent solution for device manufacturers who seek to upgrade to Wi-Fi 6, as well as for NXP SOM providers who may want to free up their PCIe lanes and use an SDIO module to add connectivity.

Silex Technology also offers custom driver development and/or patching services with the SX-SDMAX. This helps i.MX platform customers  eliminate driver development and integration efforts, or get custom, local support to help design their products.

SX-SDMAX is a 2.4 GHz/5 GHz dual-band Wi-Fi 6 plus Bluetooth 5.3 BR/EDR/LE radio. SX-SDMAX allows customers to upgrade to Wi-Fi 6 technology today, and receive the benefits of its low power consumption and efficient communication in the latest 802.11ax standard.

Wi-Fi 6 (OFDMA)

By subdividing the Wi-Fi channel into smaller frequency allocations, parallel transmissions of smaller frames to multiple users occur simultaneously. This results in efficient  communication in existing frequencies for better communication in dense environments.

Target Wake Time (TWT)

Significantly improves battery life by as much as 67% in Wi-Fi devices, such as Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

10-15 Year Lifecycle

Lengthen product longevity with NXP's 10-15 year lifecycle support. Silex uniquely procures and stores its components and has its own manufacturing facility to continue manufacturing products well after a component(s) used in the product goes EOL.

NXP Ecosystem

NXP customers on i.MX platforms can use NXP radios as a plug and play option with SX-SDMAX, eliminating any driver development and integration efforts.

Silex tests and calibrates each radio module before delivery. Our software also undergoes stringent quality testing before its released as a Silex Technology driver.
