Tri-Band Connectivity and Concurrent Dual Wi-Fi 6/6E
Bluetooth Combo Module Powered by NXP IW693S
The SX-SDMAX6E-DW is a tri-band Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth v6.1 combo module engineered for medical and industrial embedded applications where quick, reliable, and low-latency wireless connectivity is required.
It features NXP’s IW693S, a 2x2 Dual-Band (5-7GHz), 1x1 (2.4 GHz) concurrent dual wireless 6/6E and Bluetooth SoC (system-on-chip). The SDIO interface is ideal for low-power embedded devices powered by power-efficient processors without a PCI Express interface, delivering stable, reliable connectivity in congested Wi-Fi environments while enabling seamless roaming for mobile devices.

As an NXP Gold Partner, Silex has worked closely with NXP Semiconductors from the earliest prototype stages of the IW693 chipset. This collaboration ensures that our driver software is not only optimized for performance but also independently verified and enhanced by Silex.
To simplify evaluation, we provide free drivers for NXP’s i.MX9x platform, enabling a smooth and efficient start. Beyond evaluation, Silex offers complete one-stop support - including software, hardware, wireless certification, and production services, helping you accelerate development and bring products to market with confidence.
6 GHz Band Support for Stable, Interference-Free Connectivity
In addition to the standard 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, this module supports Wi-Fi operation in the 6 GHz band. With a larger number of available channels and no overlap with existing 2.4/5 GHz traffic, the 6 GHz band minimizes interference and congestion. Even in environments crowded with Wi-Fi devices, this ensures more reliable connections and stable equipment operation.

Concurrent Dual Wireless (CDW)
The SX-SDMAX6E-DW supports Concurrent Dual Wireless (CDW), enabling a concurrent 2x2 Wi-Fi 6/6E connection in either the 5 GHz or 6 GHz band, along with a 1x1 Wi-Fi connection in the 2.4 GHz band. NXP provides four operating modes, with Silex adding two additional modes to further optimize power consumption.
- Mode 1: CDW 2x2 Wi-Fi 6/6E 5–7 GHz (802.11ax) and 1x1 Wi-Fi 6 2.4 GHz (802.11ax)
- Mode 2: CDW 1x1 Wi-Fi 6/6E 5–7 GHz (802.11ax) and 1x1 Wi-Fi 6 2.4 GHz (802.11ax)
- Mode 3: 2x2 Wi-Fi 6 2.4 GHz (802.11ax)
- Mode 4: 2x2 Wi-Fi 6/6E 5–7 GHz (802.11ax)
- Mode 5: 1x1 Wi-Fi 6 2.4 GHz (802.11ax)
- Mode 6: 1x1 Wi-Fi 6/6E 5-7 GHz (802.11ax)
CDW enables embedded devices to operate Wi-Fi interfaces independently in either station mode or access point (AP) mode simultaneously. While some legacy Wi-Fi solutions support station and access point modes using a time-division multiplexing (TDM) approach on the same channel, CDW provides more versatile and reliable wireless connectivity by enabling concurrent operation across separate interfaces.
Boost Battery-Powered Devices with Speed and Efficiency
Designed with power-efficient SDIO connectivity, this module is ideal for wireless battery-powered devices, extending operational life without compromising performance. By combining high-speed Wi-Fi 6/6E 2-stream communication, it enables smooth wireless transmission of high-definition images, audio, and video alongside conventional data. This opens up new possibilities for medical, industrial, and other advanced applications, delivering both speed and energy savings.

TAA (Trade Agreement Act) Compliant

The SX-SDMAX6E-DW is a TAA-compliant Wi-Fi 6E SDIO host interface module manufactured at Silex’s factory in Kyoto, Japan. It provides a high-performance Wi-Fi 6E connectivity solution for manufacturers requiring components that comply with TAA requirements.
10-15 Year Lifecycle
Lengthen product longevity with NXP's 10-15 year lifecycle support. Silex uniquely procures and stores its components and has its own manufacturing facility to continue manufacturing products well after a component(s) used in the product goes EOL.
NXP Ecosystem
NXP customers on i.MX platforms can use NXP radios as a plug-and-play option with SX-SDMAXE6E-DW, eliminating any driver development and integration efforts.
