IEEE 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6/6E) Wireless LAN Access Point Modules

Silex’s SX-PCEAX-AP Series modules are embedded wireless LAN modules using Qualcomm's QCN9072 chipset, ideal for access points, gateways, and routers in medical and industrial applications. The SX-PCEAX-AP Wi-Fi 6 module enables a stable 2.4GHz/5GHz communication even in crowded wireless environments, while the SX-PCEAX-AP6E Wi-Fi 6E module provides a 6GHz connection. Combining both the Wi Fi 6 and 6E modules can seamlessly provide a Wi-Fi access point compatible with 2.4GHz/5GHz/6GHz.

OFDMA | MU-MIMO

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA)
While OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is typically used for point-to-point communication where a single transmitter communicates with a single receiver, OFDMA supports multiple access, enabling multiple users or devices to transmit and receive data simultaneously within the same frequency band.

Multi User Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO)
SU-MIMO (Single User Multiple Input Multiple Output) and MU-MIMO (Multi User Multiple Input Multiple Output) are two different technologies used in Wi-Fi communication to enhance data transfer efficiency. SU-MIMO is the traditional MIMO technology where a Wi-Fi router communicates with a single device at a time. MU-MIMO is an advancement over SU-MIMO and allows a Wi-Fi router to communicate with multiple devices simultaneously. It divides the available channels into spatial streams and allocates them to different devices, enabling concurrent data transmission to multiple users. This is particularly beneficial in environments with multiple connected devices, such as crowded Wi-Fi networks in homes, offices, or public spaces. MU-MIMO can be further categorized into downlink MU-MIMO (router to devices) and uplink MU-MIMO (devices to router).

SX-PCEAX is based on the QCN9072 chipset and supports tri-band with 802.11ax. It is ideal for access points, gateways, and routers in medical and industrial applications in dense environments.

Standard form factor reduces development and certification costs
The SX-PCEAX-AP Series modules’ standard-compliant full-height Mini PCIe form
factor enables customers to easily integrate the module in existing designs. By simply
swapping out the wireless module of an existing access point, you can seamlessly
upgrade it to Wi-Fi 6/6E without the high development and certification costs.

Wi-Fi 6E (Tri-Band)
Add the 6GHz spectrum with SX-PCEAX-AP6E . Devices can operate in the 6 GHz band providing:
- Six times more capacity than 2.5 and 5 GHz bands
- Seven super wide 160 MHz channels
- Lower latency, less congestion

Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO)
Allows more downlink data to be transferred at once and enables an access point to concurrently transmit data to a larger number of devices.

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA)
OFDMA effectively shares channels to increase network efficiency and lower latency for both uplink and downlink traffic in high-demand and dense environments.

Designed for side-by-side use to easily achieve tri-band benefits (2.4GHz/5GHz/6GHz)
