SX-SDMAX Evaluation        NXP Partner Program Horizontal

Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 plus Bluetooth® Combo SDIO Module powered by NXP IW611

The SX-SDMAX is a Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) plus Bluetooth® v5.3 that supports SDIO as its host interface.

Powered by NXP’s highly integrated IW611 chipset, the Wi-Fi 6 module delivers higher throughput, better network efficiency, lower latency, and improved range over previous-generation Wi-Fi standards. It offers secure plug and play wireless connectivity for the NXP i.MX series and other platforms for better communication in dense environments.

We have specifically designed SX-SDMAX in a micro SD card form factor, called the SX-SDCAX, that allows customers to easily evaluate the radio on any platform with a micro SD card slot.

We support the below reference platforms and provide a Linux OS evaluation image that includes Silex’s reference radio driver, supplicant, and tools to test the following:

The evaluation image includes the Silex reference radio driver, supplicant and tools to test the following:
  • Basic wireless functionality
  • Advanced Wi-Fi security
  • Data throughput
  • Soft access point mode
  • DHCP server and client

What you will need?

SX-SDCAX-2530
i.MX 8M Application Processor and SOC Evaluation Kit (MCIMX8M-EVKB)
• A PC to open a console session for the NXP platform
 • Evaluation OS Image - Linux

Although the NXP i.MX BSP will already include Wi-Fi drivers for SX-SDMAX to enable plug and play evaluation, Silex also provides a separate evaluation Linux OS image which not only includes Silex's optimized driver but also board data files, and other Linux test tools ideal for evaluation.
