Where did all the USB ports go?

Mac C-USBThese are exciting times for mobile computing. There is healthy competition from multiple vendors for tablet computers and laptops. As always, computers are getting smaller and lighter, while still being very powerful. With some of the latest new mobile computers, the biggest disadvantage is in the number of ports being available on them. As an example, Apple just announced their new Macbooks which only have one port, a C-USB port. This port is used for charging, video, and any kind of USB device which means you can't do them all at the same time. Microsoft (Surface Pro), Dell (Venue Pro), and other vendors have also been launching exciting new tablets and the number of ports keep reducing. They offer accessories to add to the number of ports, but these can be costly, awkward, and inconvenient.wosx

Did you know that Silex has a way for mobile computer users to keep the advantage of being light, mobile, and un-tethered while still able to easily connect to their USB devices whenever they are needed? With Silex USB Device Servers, you can easily connect and share USB devices over a network. Printers, Scanners, Disk Drives, Card Readers, or virtually any other USB device can now be enabled with network capability. You can also have the flexibility to place the USB device anywhere on the network instead of needing to be attached directly to the computer, and multiple users can access the USB device. This technology is suitable for a number of additional applications as well.
