Silex DS-510 provides the flexibility for USB devices to be accessible from anywhere on a network without needing to be physically plugged into a local device. Silex DS-510 enables customers to access and use the YubiHSM 2 across virtual environments, including VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, and Citrix platforms, to enhance protection for cryptographic keys.
By utilizing a USB hub, Silex DS-510 also makes it possible for customers to configure multiple instances of the YubiHSM SDK at the Windows machine, as well as access each YubiHSM 2, to meet their specific use cases.
Silex's DS-510 has been vetted and verified by the Yubico team. Thanks to Yubico's team's support, DS-510's interoperability with YubiHSM 2 is tested with Windows 10 physical hardware and virtual servers running Windows Server 2019 or 2016 on ESXi. DS-510 is functional and performs as if YubiHSM 2 is connected directly to a USB port.
Silex's USB virtual link technology allows users to easily integrate Silex's USB device servers and USB devices into a virtual environment. SX-Virtual link software automatically finds Silex's USB device serves on the network and lists all connected USB devices even through a USB hub. It is also possible to check the availability and request to use a specific USB device.
