Silex Technology America won the Editor’s Choice Award from Embedded Computing Design Magazine for the first time last month.  Embedded Computing Design is an OpenSystems Media publication, whose mission is to promote the development and use of open standards and new technologies in the embedded computing industry. They constantly scan the industry for emerging standards, emerging technologies and uniquely innovative products, and work with industry leaders to develop and publish articles that educate the readers about innovative new products, technologies, and standards of benefit to them. The editors of the magazine recognized our SX-580-2700DM-SDK, which is a software development kit designed for engineers who need to develop software programs in Linux and bring wireless connectivity to their embedded devices.

The SX-580-2700DM-SDK is a stripped down version of our standard SX-580 product, but without any application software. This allows software engineers the ability to create their own applications. This product is intended for experienced Linux engineers due to the complexity of the product. Silex support is also available and can be purchased with the product if needed. Features of the SDK, include:

• Comes with all the necessary documentation,  Source code, and compiler to start development right out of the box
• Linux based kit allows you to utilize various Linux software resources
• IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n
• Interfaces available for wireless connectivity:  UART, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C and GPIO for wireless connectivity
• Extended Flash of 32MB in SX-580-2700DM (instead of 8MB for the standard SX-580-2700)
• Firmware Update by TFTP (U-Boot)
• The kit includes the evaluation board "SX-580-6900" for development. It is equipped with a connector RJ-45 Ethernet connector, serial connector × 3, USB connector, the main I / O for, AC adapter, wireless LAN antenna comes with this board
