SX-ULPAN Demo at Freescale America's FAE Event

Silex Technology participated at the Freescale FAE event held in Austin, Texas a few weeks ago. It was relatively a small event held in a very private manner with Freescale FAE’s and ecosystem partners. It was exciting as it was at this event that Silex unveiled their latest ultra-low-power Wi-Fi module, the SX-ULPAN.

The SX-ULPAN is an ultra-low-power, dual-band, 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi module with industrial temperature support. The SX-ULPAN provides the needed reliable connectivity for networking applications based on low power MCU’s. It is based on Qualcomm Atheros 4004 radio chip and is designed to connect your device to the internet of things.

Features and Benefits:

  • IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n Conformity (2.4 GHz & 5 GHz)
  • Supports Data Rates 1 - 54 Mbps for 802.11b/g, 6 - 54 Mbps for 802.11a and MCS0-6 for 802.11n
  • SX-ULPAN_14017_WebsiteSupports Industrial Temperature
  • Single Stream System (1x1) and 20MHz Channel Width
  • Supports SPI as Host IF of Wireless LAN
  • Throughput up to 10Mbps for SPI Interface
  • Supports Rx Software Selection Diversity for Wireless LAN Mode
  • Calibrated Tx Power per Module
  • Hardware Supports Security such as WPS, WPA and WPA2
  • Supports on Chip IPv4, TCP and UDP Protocol
  • Selectable Onboard Printed Antenna and an U.FL Connector for an Add-on Antenna
  • Freescale Tower EVK with MQX Driver Support

The SX-ULPAN will find its way into many IoT applications like remote equipment monitoring, asset tracking and telemetry, security, wireless audio, industrial sensors and controls, home automation, medical devices and others.
