Wi-Fi for Jetson AGX ORIN

Silex Technology has just announced its enablement for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity on the latest NVIDIA Jetson platform, the AGX Orin. If you already used/considering using AGX Xavier for your product, it will be a good time to have a test with AGX Orin Dev Kit to obtain higher performance. The Jetson platforms recently have been widely deployed in Agriculture, Healthcare, Transportation, and Retail applications. With the same form factor, now AI performance can be lifted to 5 times if you switch to the Orin. Wi-Fi 6E - Faster, Secure, Wireless Technology

Silex has just released its first Wi-Fi 6E module for embedded medical, AI, and industrial IoT devices. The new SX-PCEAX wireless LAN combination builds on Wi-Fi 6E for higher-speed, lower-power, more stable, and efficient communications. The SX-PCEAX includes the latest Wi-Fi 6E standard to expand into the 6 GHz spectrum for unprecedented Wi-Fi communications performance, stability, and efficiency. Designed for improved communications in highly congested environments, the new Wi-Fi 6E module delivers the critical reliability, efficiency, and performance needed to expand IoT devices in factories, warehouses, and medical facilities.

The SX-PCEAX is a tri-band (2.4GHz / 5GHz / 6GHz) wireless LAN combo module that supports Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth® v5.2, using Qualcomm QCA2066. Wi-Fi 6E extends the benefits of Wi-Fi 6 into the 6 GHz communication spectrum, enhancing the speed and reliability even more. With seven super-wide 160 MHz channels available in Wi-Fi 6E, devices have six times the bandwidth capacity available on Wi-Fi 6 networks running in 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bandwidth. The module supports both station and access point modes. It is equipped with a wide range of features unique to Wi-Fi 6, such as Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) and Target Wake Time (TWT), to enable high-speed communication and enhanced communication efficiency and stability of the system. Combining Wi-Fi 6 features with the expansion into 6 GHz communications makes the SX-PCEAX an ideal wireless LAN module for developing next-generation wireless LAN systems.

SX-PCEAX for NVIDIA's Jetson AGX ORIN

Wi-Fi 6E for Jetson AGX ORIN

• SX-PCEAX-M2: This is the standard M.2 Card Type 2230-S3-A-E form factor that can plug directly into the Jetson ORIN development kit.
• SX-PCEAX-SMT: This is the smallest form factor M.2 LGA Type 1418 surface mount module that can be mounted on your production platform to provide Wi-Fi 6E connectivity to your ORIN device.

Silex technology has done the work for you to add Wi-Fi to the ORIN platform seamlessly. We have created an evaluation image based on NVIDIA’s jetpack 5.0 (supporting Linux kernel 5.10) and included wireless drivers for the SX-PCEAX module including evaluation tools like iperf, wireless supplicant, etc to assist you with your wireless evaluation. We have seen Wi-FI throughput up to 2 Gbps in our testing.
